Board of Governors
UKiP-CA is a consortium of organizations interested in the development and deployment of online resources for learning and appreciating the Ukrainian language and culture. Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, UKiP-CA is a registered non-profit organization and coordinates an inter-provincial network of institutions and organizations that develops and provides bilingual (Ukrainian-English) online learning resources to Canadian schools and post-secondary institutions, as well as to a worldwide audience.
On November 14, 2002 the UKiP-CA was officially launched at a signing ceremony held at the University of Alberta. The initial signatories were:
- Dr. Zenon Kohut, for the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta;
- Dr. Roman Petryshyn, Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre, Grant MacEwan College;
- Professor Ostap Hawaleshka, Canada Ukraine Foundation;
- Ms. Marusia Petryshyn, Ukrainian Language Education Centre, CIUS; and
- Ms. Tania Onyschuk, Ukrainian Canadian School Board, Toronto Branch.
UKiP-CA was initiated by the Ukrainian Language Education Centre (ULEC), University of Alberta; the Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies, University of Alberta; the Ukrainian Resource and Development Centre (URDC), Grant MacEwan College; the Canada Ukraine Foundation-e-Learning Network; and the Ukrainian Canadian School Board-Toronto Branch.
UKiP-CA is looking to expand its Governors, and we welcome the opportunity to speak with individuals and organizations who share our goal of furthering the Ukrainian language and heritage learning across Canada and the world. The UKiP-CA Board of Governors meet a minimum of four times per year and provide guidance and direction to the consortium.
